This Thanksgiving don’t just give thanks, give back and get fit with Bulls Fitsgiving!
Bulls Fitsgiving is a timed, indoor/outdoor obstacle course event where teams of 4 people compete to win cool prizes.
The obstacle course takes place Nov. 19, but the event itself starts much earlier. Prior to the race, teams can bring donations of non-perishable food items, hygiene products, and gently-used clothing to REC 111 during normal business hours. Each item donated will earn points that will shave precious time off a team’s total obstacle course time. Participants are encouraged to get their friends to donate on behalf of their team as well. Donations will be accepted until 3:00 p.m. the day of the event.
Food products collected will be donated to the Feed-A-Bull food pantry on campus, which provides supplemental food to USF students in need. Since its launch in September, it has given out more than 1500 pounds of food and served 15-20 students per week. Clothing and hygiene donations will be given to Metropolitan Ministries, a local organization that provides help for the homeless and those at risk of being homeless. Each year, Metropolitan Ministries serves about 25,000 families in Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties. The donations received will be used to help families get back on their feet and return to self-sufficiency.
Get some friends together and form a team! Have fun in a friendly competition right before everyone parts ways for Thanksgiving break. Registration for the event is now open and spots are limited. Can’t participate but still want to donate? Just bring your items to REC 111 to donate!
